Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse in Salem, Virginia. This position involves providing specialized care for patients in the labor and delivery unit, including assisting with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, epidural placements, and antepartum triage. The role demands a team-oriented approach with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and clinical excellence.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications. 0.0 years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with labor and delivery procedures such as C-section, vaginal deliveries, epidural placement, and knowledge of OB medications.
• Additional Information: Must have labor and delivery experience, proficiency in strip interpretation, blood administration, nitrous administration, and setting up delivery tables. Candidates should demonstrate a teamwork approach to patient care and be familiar with common OB complications and treatments. The unit utilizes Meditech and Centricity documentation systems, with available equipment including Monica Novii, ambulatory (telemetry) monitors, and GE electronic fetal monitoring. Dress code requires hospital-provided scrubs, with the option to wear personal attire after changing on arrival and departure. Candidates are expected to work four weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule and be prepared for daily huddles at 6:45 AM.
