Registered Nurse / Psychiatric Unit

Job Summary

Psychiatric Unit registered nurse (RN) position located at a behavioral health hospital. This role involves providing patient-centered care in a specialized unit dedicated to adults with mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and major depression. The position requires engaging with patients in a secure environment to deliver compassionate treatment and medication management.

Job Details

• Certifications required: BLS (American Heart Association), Handle with Care (HWC can be completed on site if needed).
• Education requirements: BSN preferred.
• Location requirements: Massachusetts State license required at the time of submission.
• Experience required: 3 years of working with mental health patients in a locked setting, with the ability to pass medications utilizing Omni Cell.
• Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, on days; weekly guaranteed hours: 40; scheduled every other weekend.
• Additional Information: A state-of-the-art behavioral health unit with a low restraint rate, experienced staff, and a comprehensive team of medical and rehabilitation professionals. The unit cares for adults 18 and over, many of whom have legal issues or are in transition before returning to the community. Candidates should be trauma-informed, compassionate, flexible, confident, and able to communicate effectively with others.
