Operating Room Tech / Operating Room Open Heart

Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart registered nurses are needed in Salem, VA. This position involves working on the second floor of a healthcare facility that features two operating room suites. The role requires providing specialized cardiac surgery nursing services in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patient safety and optimal care during complex procedures.

Job Details:

• Unit Information:
  Number of Beds 2 operating room suites
  Number of Staff 6 (3 RNs, 3 CSTs)
  Type of staff Day shift all staff are day shift
  Patient Ratios 1:1
  Type of equipment Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Meditech

• Skill Set:
  Most recruited for: Must have ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications. Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

  Preferred or nice to have: Scrubbing experience with cardiovascular procedures.

• Typical Procedures Performed on Unit:
  Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
  Thoracotomy
  Endovascular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Repair
  Valve Replacements
  Pacemaker placement

• Personality Fit:
  Flexible, knowledgeable, self-starter

• Float:
  Float rotation may be required.

• Dress Code:
  Scrub color/attire Light blue, provided by the organization

• Schedule:
  Shifts of 8 hours, minimum of 40 hours per week

• Additional Information:
  Weekday, weekend, and holiday call required.
  Starting date is 08/31/2026.
  Position is for one applicant.
