Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical With Telemetry

Job Summary:
Cardiac Renal Unit Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS/Tele) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Evansville, Indiana. This clinical role involves providing high-acuity care on a 41-bed unit, primarily during night shifts. The RN will be responsible for managing complex cardiac and telemetry patients, including those with arrhythmias, heart failure, COPD, sepsis, and dialysis, while performing assessments, interpreting telemetry, and initiating various drips and interventions.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week (48 hours accepted upon request).
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS, minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry experience, at least one travel assignment, and trauma level II experience. Recent EPIC charting experience is required and will include a checkoff class.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers must pass telemetry tests), and skill in initiating/titrating drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, amino acids, etc.), PIV insertion, chest tube management, CBI, and antidysrhythmic medication dosing.
• Additional Information: The unit primarily cares for high-acuity Tele/Medical Surgical patients with cardiac heavy caseloads, including Afib with RVR, flutter, blocks, post-ablation, CHF, COPD, sepsis, and dialysis patients. Candidates must possess strong assessment and critical thinking skills, be resilient, hard-working, and capable of managing change effectively. The unit offers a collaborative environment with experienced staff and a manager who has been with the team for over 15 years. The facility may require precepting of students and new hires.
