Registered Nurse / Step Down Unit

Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in step down unit care in Omaha, Nebraska, will be responsible for providing advanced nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses, including cardiac, nephrology, strokes, and diabetes. The position requires delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring clinical excellence and patient safety on a 12-hour night shift.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, certifications including BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step down units, strong communication skills, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, positive attitude, and the ability to assist others.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to medical floors, ICU, or rehab units.
- Additional Information: Candidates must adhere to the unit`s fingernail policy; artificial nails are prohibited. Pass/fail exams will be administered during orientation, requiring at least a 90% passing score. RTO must be requested upfront, with approvals limited to 7 days or less for a 13-week contract. No full-time, part-time, or PRN status with associated facilities is permitted during the assignment. The assignment start date is 08/31/2026, with potential for cancellations up to 4 shifts per 13-week period.
