Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician specializing in Sterile Processing (SPT) is sought for an assignment in Boston, Massachusetts. The role involves performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance with established procedures, infection control standards, industry standards, recommended practices on sterilization, and regulatory requirements. This position is essential for supporting surgical and clinical operations within the healthcare organization.

Job Details:

  • Responsibilities include processing specialty and general instruments, resetting instrument sets without error, decontaminating instruments and equipment according to procedure, maintaining Central Sterile Department stock levels, preparing and assembling surgical trays and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing, and communicating instrument repair needs to supervisor.
  • Certifications required include Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).
  • Education requirements include a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience related to the role ranges from 2 to 4 years preferred.
  • Knowledge of case cart assembly and familiarity with the regulatory standards of materials management are desirable.
  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance is also beneficial.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week.
  • Start date is contingent upon credentialing clearance; if not cleared by the scheduled start date, a rescheduled date will be necessary.
