Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical With Telemetry

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) nurse position located in Portland, Oregon. This role involves providing patient care in a short-term acute care facility, working primarily during night shifts. The selected candidate will float between units as needed and will be expected to adhere to staffing ratios and protocols specific to adult and geriatric patient populations.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift with 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid state license, at least 2 years of experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing, and a minimum of 1 year of travel or community hospital experience. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic charting systems, previous float experience in similar facilities, and proficiency in managing adult and geriatric patient populations.
• Float: Several med surg units; floating between units may be required based on skill set.
• Additional Information: Must have at least 1 year of experience with insulin administration, oral suctioning, colostomy and ileostomy management, and bowel obstruction patients. Candidates must be prepared to work at multiple facilities within the Portland area and commit to working three of the five major holidays. Candidates must possess a valid compact license, be within a 50-mile radius of the assignment, and have reliable transportation.
• Submittal Requirements: Candidates must include responses regarding previous employment at a similar facility, and provide two references covering at least one year within the last three years.
