Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care in Fort Wayne, IN. The position involves caring for critically ill patients in a mixed acuity unit, with duties including ventilator management, titration of IV medications, and assisting with procedures such as intubations and line placements. This role requires flexibility across ICU, progressive care, and medical-surgical units to support patient needs.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, with a traditional weekday plus weekend rotation.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Indiana RN license, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), at least 2 years ICU experience (minimum 0 years required).
- Preferred Qualifications: Travel experience, Level 1 or Level 2 facility experience preferred.
- Float: Float to all ICU, Progressive Care, and Medical-Surgical units with a maximum ratio of 1:3 across all units.
- Additional Information: Care involves monitoring ventilated patients, initiating and titrating IV drips for vasopressors, sedatives, and paralytics, and assisting with advanced airway management. Equipment used includes Phillips heart monitors, Epic electronic medical records, Pyxis, EKG machines, and dopplers. The unit comprises 24 ICU beds and 12 progressive care beds. Onboarding includes a review of policies, Epic training, and a one-day unit orientation.
