Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse position is located in a critical care unit within a healthcare facility. The role involves providing advanced nursing care to critically ill patients, including those requiring neuro, surgical, trauma, and sepsis management. The ICU nurse will work on a rotating shift schedule, averaging 36 hours per week, with responsibilities spanning multiple specialized units.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours shift time, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a registered nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent degree, at least 3 years of experience in critical care, proficiency in advanced hemodynamic monitoring, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, ventilated patient care, and vasoactive medication administration, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience assisting with line insertion and maintenance, managing lines/tubes/drains such as ventriculostomies, lumbar drains, bolts, external ventricular drains (EVD), pulmonary artery (PA) lines, and waveform interpretation (CVCC)
  • Additional Information: The position requires float capability to Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and other critical care units as needed. The ICU is the only neuro-critical care unit in northern New England, with specialized care for neuro, surgical, trauma, and systemic patients. The role involves high-acuity patient management with a focus on neuro and critical care procedures.
