Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves providing comprehensive post-surgical care in a fast-paced, inpatient setting. The role requires flexibility to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday rotation, in a unit with a high patient turnover and acuity.

Job Details:

• Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (day/night), 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, minimum of 2+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience with recent hospital experience, trauma level II experience, Epic charting experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor`s Degree in Nursing.
• Float: Float to all inpatient units; float rotation may be required.
• On Call/Call Back: Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be worked in hour increments.
• Unit Specific Skillset: Post-surgical care in a 40-bed inpatient unit caring for pre- and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients; nurse to patient ratio is approximately 1:4 to 1:7 depending on shift.
• Schedule: 12-hour day/night variable shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Medical-Surgical nursing; recent hospital experience required.
• Equipment used: Epic Electronic Medical Records, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris infusion pumps.
