Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit Neurological

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Neurological (Neuro ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Wausau, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, TBI, head injury, and Neurosurgery patients. The RN will work in a dedicated neuro unit with responsibilities encompassing neuro assessments and ICU procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS and ACLS from AHA or ARC, NIHSS certification, Associate Degree or Certificate, minimum 2 years of experience with 1 travel assignment preferred in Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU, including strong assessment skills in Neuro.
• Required Experience: 2 years minimal with a background in Neuro ICU or Medical/Surgical ICU, experience with neuro assessments and bedside ICU procedures, familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring is preferred.
• Charting Experience: EPIC required
• Float: Float rotation may be required between Neuro Critical Care ICU and Medical/Surgical ICU units, with potential float to other inpatient units as needed.
• Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday
• Additional Information: The unit is an 8-bed Neuro unit caring for stroke, TBI, head injury, and neurosurgery patients. Experience as a neuro interventionalist or with bolt and drain bedside placements is a plus. The candidate must be resilient, able to manage change, and able to work independently, completing tasks in a timely manner. Scrub colors can be any color. During flu season, any traveler declining flu and COVID vaccinations is required to wear a mask at all times, in accordance with hospital policy.
