Job Summary:
Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse in Phoenix, AZ. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a busy IR department, with a focus on neuro IR procedures and perioperative patient management. The role requires technical proficiency, adherence to sterile techniques, and collaboration with radiology and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of an occasional Saturday and holiday work; shifts are either 0700-1730 or 0730-1800 based on departmental needs; minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in the state of Arizona, with a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; ACLS and BLS certifications; neuro IR experience highly preferred; candidates must be able to pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts, and complete SIMs lab assessments including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; experience with preoperative, PACU, or ICU settings is desirable.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with radiology pre- and post-procedural care, conscious sedation recovery, and the use of critical care equipment; familiarity with EMR systems such as Cerner; ability to perform post-procedure assessments for interventional radiology cases such as chemo embolizations, Y-90 treatments, vascular access, and stroke treatment.
- Additional Information: The role involves managing outpatient and inpatient populations with critical care needs; minimal neuro endovascular duties, primarily body IR procedures. Willingness to work on call approximately 4-5 shifts per month. No personal facial piercings, natural hair color, and men are required to be clean-shaven for fit testing. May be expected to work with techs across several modalities, including CT, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine.
