Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Floor in Springfield, MA. This position involves providing high-quality care on a fast-paced, highly acute Medical Surgical unit with a diverse patient population. The role requires experienced professionals capable of managing a variety of surgical and medical cases in a dynamic environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, 5 or more years of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, current BLS certification, and a minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a similar setting
• Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications such as ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS, or specialty training in surgical or trauma nursing are a plus
• Additional Information: The unit is a 32-bed general surgical ward that can flex up to 34 beds, handling general surgery, colorectal, weight loss surgeries, urology, spinal, thoracic, trauma, ortho-trauma, endocrine, and occasional medical overflow. Patient ratios are typically 5-7 patients per nurse, with efforts made to avoid maximum ratios.
