Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Santa Maria, California. This position involves providing care to patients across all gestational ages, including antepartum and high-risk deliveries. The role requires circulating during cesarean sections and offering comprehensive obstetric care in a busy maternity unit within a healthcare organization.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with every other weekend.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); COVID vaccine required; minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with scrubbing in cesarean sections is preferred.
• Additional Information: The unit includes 14 beds for labor, 6 triage beds, 2 operating room suites, and 28 postpartum beds, with approximately 250 births per month. The unit operates on Cerner electronic medical records system. Staff will need to float to postpartum, with a specific orientation conducted over three shifts. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
