Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in high-risk obstetrics will provide comprehensive care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients at the healthcare facility. This role involves circulating for cesarean sections, delivering obstetric care across all gestational ages, and managing various high-risk conditions in a busy unit located in Santa Maria, California.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with every other weekend coverage
• Required Qualifications: ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS Certification, COVID Vaccine, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Minimum 2 years of obstetric experience, valid license to submit, current certifications
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience circulating and scrubbing during cesarean sections preferred
• Float: Float rotation may be required, including to postpartum units
• Additional Information: Unit has 14 beds in Labor & Delivery with triage beds and OR suites, supporting approximately 250 births per month. The team uses Cerner for charting; in-house OB/Neonatalist specialists are not available but accessible if needed. The unit manages antepartum, high-risk deliveries, substance abuse cases, pre-eclampsia, and insulin-dependent diabetics. Certified nurses and OB technologists will support patient care.
