Registered Nurse / Operating Room Open Heart

Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) located in Saint Louis, Missouri. This role involves working in a fast-paced, high-level care environment focusing primarily on cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. The position requires scrub experience for cardiovascular procedures and the ability to circulate as needed, supporting emergent cases and transplant surgeries.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Two years of surgical experience with cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, including transplant surgeries. Certification requirements include BLS and ACLS. Valid license in Missouri or proof of compact license in hand at the time of submittal. Travel experience is not specified but preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree is preferred. Sufficient level 1 trauma experience, scrub and circulate expertise in cardiovascular surgery, and experience with transplant surgeries are highly desirable.
  • Certifications: ACLS and BLS are required prior to start.
  • Additional Information: The role involves working primarily on emergent, high-acuity cases within a Level I trauma environment. The unit is fast-paced, with a focus on cardiac, thoracic, and vascular open procedures, including transplants and complex surgeries requiring specialized skills such as Heart and Lung Transplant experience for night shifts. The position includes rotating start times and requires working 3-4 weekday shifts and 1-2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule, as needed based on unit needs.
  • Submittal Requirements: Must have at least 2 years of experience, with consideration given to 1-year experience for those with Level 1 trauma background. Certifications and licensure must be current; additional modules may be required prior to start. The candidate`s home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility. No local candidates accepted within the specified radius.
