Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
This Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse (RN) position is located in Peoria, Illinois. The role offers a fast-paced environment within a short stay unit specializing in managing patients with stroke, trauma, cardiac conditions, and general medical issues. The RN will provide patient care, monitor vital signs, perform assessments, and support a high patient turnover setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift from 07:00 to 19:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated; BLS (AHA), NIHSS certifications; minimum 1 year of general medical-surgical experience; located within 50 miles of the facility; active IL license or application confirmation; last four digits of SSN; Department: Short Stay Unit; Beds: 13; Patient Ratios: 1:05; Experience in stroke, trauma, cardiac, gen med conditions; No titrating drips; Housewide telemetry using Phillips Monitoring; No specific scrub color required; Scrubs not provided; 1-2 shifts with unit-specific orientation; Start date: 08/03/2026.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-acuity patient care, familiarity with EPIC charting system, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment.
• Additional Information: Nurses will participate in rotating weekend and holiday schedules; no on-call requirements; travelers may float to other departments as needed; high-flow oxygen, Bi-Pap, and C-Pap equipment used for PRN orders or at night; RN is not required to read EKG strips; unit operates 12-hour shifts; dress code allows for personal scrubs, avoiding pediatric tops.
