Job Description
Job Summary:
The Telemetry Registered Nurse is responsible for providing patient care in an observation unit that functions more like an inpatient setting than an emergency department. The RN performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical tasks in accordance with state Board of Nursing standards. This role involves assessing, planning, and evaluating nursing care, as well as providing health education and counseling. The individual will execute delegated medical functions, monitor therapy and treatment plans, and document in compliance with regulatory guidelines, promoting the mission, vision, and values of the healthcare organization.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: ASN - Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice; BLS certification from the American Heart Association; 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree of Nursing; Certification as appropriate for the unit or service.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The RN will perform clinical duties within an observation unit that operates similarly to an inpatient unit, including monitoring patient status, executing delegated functions, and providing supportive and restorative therapy.
