Job Summary:
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Towson, Maryland. This position involves providing specialized care to postoperative cardiac surgery patients, including those with complex hemodynamic conditions, on a 12-hour night shift. The role requires adaptability to varying unit needs, including floating and holiday coverage, and emphasizes critical patient management in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour nights, 3x12 shifts per week, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 08/24/2026 for a duration of 14 weeks.
- Required Qualifications: Maryland RN license, BLS, CPI, ACLS certifications, with 0+ years of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: NIHSS, OCN certifications, prior ICU or community hospital experience, and trauma level II experience.
- Float: Float to Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) as needed.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include managing patients with post-op cardiac procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, structural heart interventions like TAVR and mitral clips, and dealing with complex cardiac cases involving ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT. The role involves active management of hemodynamic instability, inotropic support, and post-surgical care in a unit with six beds and a patient ratio of 1:2. The candidate must be comfortable with invasive procedures, monitoring, and rapid response protocols, and must be available for scheduled holidays and weekend shifts.
