Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Shelby, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized care for labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn patients in a Level 3 trauma teaching hospital. The position requires working night shifts with a strong focus on labor management, cesarean circulation, triage, and neonatal resuscitation, supporting a team-oriented environment within the unit.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), BLS, ACLS, Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; ability to work in LDRP setting
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with labor management, cesarean sections, pre-op, PACU, triage, resuscitation of newborns, Pitocin management, epidural management
  • Float: Float rotation within region and scope of practice; float to all listed facilities as needed, with additional compensation for mid-shift travel between facilities, when applicable
  • Support within the Department: Charge nurse available 24/7, support staff including hospitalists and RT 24/7 for neonatal care, telehealth for fetal monitoring
  • Technology/Equipment: EMR: Epic, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensers, fetal monitors, Philips neonatal monitors, ultrasound, scales, ambulation assist devices
  • Orientation: 2 days departmental orientation in the Neonatal Emergent Operating (NEO) unit
  • Scheduling: Weekend rotation every other week, possibility of low census call with callbacks up to 3:00 AM (nights) and 3:00 PM (days)
  • Holiday Expectation: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
  • RTO (Reasonable Time Off): Up to 6 days off excluding holidays; additional time added at end of contract if needed
  • Other notes: Scrub color green, hospital-issued; free parking; team-oriented unit culture
