Job Summary
The ICU Cardiovascular (Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular) RN position is located in a critical care unit that specializes in managing adult patients with severe and complex health conditions. This role involves providing specialized cardiovascular care to critically ill patients, often immediately following surgical procedures such as cardiac surgery, in a state-of-the-art facility. The schedule is primarily nights, with floating responsibilities to the step-down and med-surg units as needed.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse licensure in New York, BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year of specialty experience in cardiovascular or ICU nursing. Experience with cardiac surgeries such as CABG, valve surgeries, Swans, and intra-aortic balloon pump management is required. Prior travel experience is preferred but not required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac surgery experience and skills are required. Experience with patients straight from the operating room to ICU is necessary.
- Additional Information: Floating to step-down and/or medical surgical units may be required. Every other weekend work is mandatory, with holidays as needed. Candidates must have or be able to obtain New York State licensure promptly.
