Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Iron Mountain, Michigan. This role involves providing critical care in a busy emergency department with a diverse patient population. The position requires skilled nursing assistance during night shifts, supporting trauma, stroke, STEMI, and variable patient diagnoses in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts starting at 7:00 PM or 3:00 PM with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Michigan Nursing License, at least 2 years of emergency room nursing experience, certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with current computerized charting systems, ability to read EKG strips, and proficiency in breathing treatments and ABG analysis.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with alternating weekends and 2 out of 3 winter holidays.
  • Additional Information:
    • The ER handles approximately 40-60 patients daily, with patient ratios of 1:3-4 during the night shift.
    • The department is trauma level IV and includes designated fast track, triage, and holding areas, with in-house emergency physicians 24/7.
    • The emergency department utilizes a central monitoring station for telemetry, with in-house phlebotomy services available 24/7.
    • The role requires flexibility for floating assistance in inpatient units and adherence to hospital dress code of solid, clean, professional attire.
    • Orientation includes computer-based training, two days of floor orientation, and department-specific policies.
    • Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
    • Previous employment with the same organization must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission.
