Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor registered nurse position located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This role involves providing care for a diverse patient population with orthopedic and general medical conditions, utilizing a patient-centered approach in an acute care setting. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on hourly rounding and bedside shift reporting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Working hours are from 06:30 PM to 07:00 AM.
• Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; valid license to practice; location within 50 miles of the facility; ability to pass a skills exam with a score of at least 90%.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in orthopedic and medical surgical care preferred.
• Float: Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and behavioral health unit may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit emphasizes hourly rounding and bedside shift reports. Candidates should be flexible, self-directed, and comfortable with a fast-paced environment. Scrubs are provided in navy blue. Candidates must be open to working weekends on a rotating basis (every third weekend, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend days for night shifts). Candidates must have a drivers license for verification of distance eligibility. RTO requests must be made upfront as additional approvals will not be granted.
