Job Summary

Emergency Room (ER) registered nurse opportunity in Breckenridge, Minnesota. This role involves providing acute patient care in a Level IV trauma, STEMI receiving, and Stroke designated facility. The position requires working rotating thirteen-hour shifts, including day and night shifts, with a focus on delivering high-quality emergency services in a fast-paced environment.

  • Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of ER experience and previous Med-surg experience
  • License: Must be able to submit licensure
  • Charting System: Point Click Care (PCC)
  • Medical Staff: ER physician and/or mid-level practitioners assigned; nurse aides, EMTs, paramedics, and patient sitters on each shift
  • Patient Volume: Approximately 10 patients per day
  • Triage: Not a separate area; ER holds are intermixed within the ER
  • Psych/seclusion rooms: Yes
  • Security: Not in-house 24/7
  • Equipment: RN responsibilities include troubleshooting Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.; no RT involvement in ABGs, breathing treatments, or EKGs
  • Float requirements: Float to medical-surgical and swing bed units on the same unit
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
  • Orientation: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM 7:00 AM), duration 12 shifts
  • Weekend and Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend; holidays if scheduled
  • RTO Policy: Upfront approval only; no additional RTO requests after submission
  • Radius rule: Candidates must reside within 50 miles; cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with associated facilities within the past year
  • Additional notes: No tele/monitor techs, no in-house RT 24/7, and no call or standby instructions
  • Cancellation policy: Can cancel up to 4 shifts in a 13-week assignment
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
