Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician - Sterling, Colorado. This position involves ensuring operating room readiness by properly handling and sterilizing surgical instrumentation and disposable supplies. The role requires maintaining sterilization standards, interpreting surgical schedules, and supporting various hospital departments to facilitate smooth surgical procedures.
Job Details:
- Shift: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; mechanical aptitude with experience in cleaning, repairing, and assembling surgical instruments; effective organizational, communication, and human relation skills; must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently; may be required to lift up to 75 pounds and push carts weighing up to 500 pounds; must wear protective clothing as required; availability to rotate shifts and adjust hours as needed; must maintain a work record of regular attendance, timely arrivals, and departures.
- Preferred Qualifications: Completion of national certification as an Sterile Processing Technician within one year of hire; additional related education and experience preferred.
- Additional Information: The role involves operating specialized sterilization equipment, maintaining sterilization logs, performing quality assurance testing on surgical equipment, and adhering to infection control practices. The technician will support off-site travel if required.
