Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
This Labor and Delivery Department Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in ROCK SPRINGS, Wyoming. The role involves providing high-quality care for labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatal patients. The RN will be responsible for caring for mothers and newborns, including antepartum, delivery, and nursery care, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their shift.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The shift runs from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Required Qualifications: Wyoming State nurse license or a compact license, a minimum of 2 years` experience in Labor & Delivery (L&D), postpartum, and special care nursery, along with certifications including BLS (American Heart Association), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring from AWHONN.
• Preferred Qualifications: Not specified.
• Float: At times, to the medical floor or emergency room; RN will assist with basic tasks but will not take a patient load.
• Additional Information:
  • Local radius restriction of 50 miles applies; external candidates are preferred.
  • No call requirements at this time; possible changes if department needs arise.
  • Two-day orientation focuses on Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, workflow, and supplies.
  • The unit comprises 3 labor and delivery rooms, 5 postpartum rooms, 4 triage rooms, along with a recovery area and operating room suite.
  • Nurse to patient ratio aligns with AWHONN guidelines.
  • Required equipment includes computerized charting, Pyxis medication system, central electronic fetal monitoring, and Alaris IV pumps.
  • The department supports scrubs, prohibits visible tattoos, and body jewelry must be removed during work hours.
