Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN position available in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within a 28-bed unit, including training on transplant patients and ESRD dialysis care. The RN will support a multidisciplinary team, utilizing advanced medical equipment and technology, with a focus on patient safety and quality care during night shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: Louisville, Kentucky
• Shift Time: Nights (12 hours)
• Schedule: Every other weekend rotation; no on-call requirement; 6-week cycle available 1 month before start date
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Start Date: 08/31/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training, nursing license; 1 year of experience in a similar setting; ability to work night shifts
• Skills required: Levo, Amio, Heparin, Cardine, Bumex, Lasix GTT, BIPAP, CT management, High Flow, Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), manual peritoneal dialysis (preferred), surgery prep, blood administration, PICC line, JP drain, Hemovac, CBI
• Support within the Department: CNA support, secretary on days, charge nurse for day and night shifts, phlebotomy skills, IV/VAT team, Resource Nurse/Rapid Response team, RT 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, transplant teams available 24/7, central telemonitoring
• Technology/Equipment: Cerner EMR, Plum ICU IV Pump, Omnicell medication dispensing, rolling vital sign monitors/telemetry, hospital-specific equipment
• Orientation: 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation; facility orientation (NEO)
