Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in Exeter, NH. This unit provides care for patients with primary medical conditions, including respiratory failure, infections, congestive heart failure, and arrhythmias, requiring a PCU level of care. The role involves assessing, evaluating, and caring for patients using specialized equipment and procedures in a Level 3 trauma center.

Job Details

  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid NH or compact license in hand; BLS- American Heart Association (AHA) required; 2+ years of clinical experience required; BSN preferred.
  • Schedule: Night shift (12-hour shifts) with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule is released every 6 weeks; no self-scheduling is available.
  • Required Qualifications: Must have experience with high-flow oxygen therapy or Bipap (respiratory equipment), perform and interpret EKGs, start and care for IVs, manage central lines, and assist with bedside procedures such as chest tube placement and central line insertion.
  • Preferred Qualifications: PCCN certification is preferred.
  • Additional Information: Nurses must be able to perform care in a PCU/IMCU setting, manage multiple types of infusion and titration medications (e.g., amiodarone, Cardizem, Lasix), and handle various equipment including Radial and Femoral compression devices, IV pumps, Vapotherm, Philips Bipap, and Philips cardiac monitors. Must be separated from the organization for at least 6 months to be considered. No local candidates accepted within 50 miles.
