Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) nurse in Fullerton, California. This position involves providing specialized perioperative care for cardiac surgery patients in an acute care hospital setting. The role includes working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes during and after complex cardiac procedures.

Job Details

  • Shift: Days, with a shift duration of 10 hours per day.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, with at least 1 weekend shift per month. Responsibilities include working post shifts from 1700 to 0700 and weekend coverage from 0700 to 0700.
  • Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of recent OR open heart surgery experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, valid state license (compact license accepted), and experience with charting systems such as Epic.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in high-volume cardiac surgery units and familiarity with hybrid room procedures are preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of clinical experience in OR open heart procedures is required. First-time travelers with this experience are accepted; candidates with 3+ years of experience may be considered after screening.
  • Scheduling Preferences: Scheduling requests can be considered but are not guaranteed. Candidates must be able to commit to working a minimum of 40 hours per week, including at least one weekend per month.
  • Additional Information: The facility is an acute care hospital with approximately 320 staffed beds. Personal protective equipment and scrub color will be provided. The position requires being on-call, with post-shift and weekend call coverage duties. Candidates must be able to perform open vascular, endovascular vascular, hybrid room, and cardiovascular procedures.
  • Travel and Licensing: Local candidates within 50 miles are preferred; candidates must have a valid license in hand at submission. Candidates should include responses to previous employment at healthcare facilities in their application, as well as two references covering the past year.
