Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in Wheeling, West Virginia. This position involves providing patient care on an acute care unit with a focus on various medical diagnoses such as heart failure, COPD, cellulitis, and pneumonia. The role includes rotating day and night shifts, with weekend and holiday scheduling as needed, and requires adherence to facility policies and protocols.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour day and night rotating shifts.
• Schedule: transitioning to Qgenda; weekends scheduled as needed, usually half the weekends.
• Required Qualifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS; 0 years of experience required; valid State license; CPR and NIHSS certification.
• Specialty: Medical Surgical Floor (MS).
• Location: Wheeling, West Virginia, within a 50-mile radius of the assigned facility.
• Patient Population: Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, R/O, cholecystitis, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, AKI.
• Staffing and Ratios: One charge RN per shift, nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6/7; RN must be comfortable with ratios up to 1:7.
• Support Staff: Nurse aides and PCTs are on the unit.
• Monitoring and Equipment: Remote telemonitoring available; no vents, intermittent BIPAP.
• Additional Information: All submissions must include a copy of the candidate`s unexpired driver`s license. Licensing hits must be disclosed at the time of submission. External traveler first to float, as needed, based on census.
• Charting System: EPIC.
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue.
• Cancellation Policy: Two shifts per 13-week contract.
