Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Seattle, Washington. This position involves providing high-acuity patient care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery department. The role requires delivering exceptional maternity and neonatal care, functioning as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, and maintaining adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid state license; at least 3-5 years of experience in high-acuity obstetric and neonatal care; current certifications including BLS, NRP, ACLS, and AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic fetal monitoring; certification in advanced obstetric and neonatal procedures; previous experience in high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery settings.
  • Float: Postpartum and antepartum care supported; may float to sister facilities that support Mother/Baby units.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must be able to circulate and provide newborn care, including eyes and thigh assessments, Vitamin K injections, and initial evaluations. Prior experience with EPIC electronic fetal monitoring and following AWHONN guidelines is valued. Must have high-risk obstetric experience and ability to work in fast-paced environments. The role includes functioning as a Baby Nurse and delivering comprehensive neonatal care until transfer to postpartum. Candidates should be prepared for a schedule every 6 weeks aligned with unit needs.
