Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical With Telemetry

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) specialty nurse position in Peoria, Illinois. This acute care role requires providing patient care on a neuro medical-surgical unit, with a focus on neuro and trauma patients. The shift is scheduled for nights, with a weekly minimum of 48 hours, beginning on 08/17/2026.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that license application has been initiated, BLS (AHA), NIHSS certifications, at least 1 year of nursing experience, experience working on a dedicated neuro unit, level 1 trauma experience, previous travel experience (no first-time travelers), heparin titration experience, and willingness to work with telemetry monitors (Phillips).
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with a try to meet scheduling requests and full staffing coverage. Every other weekend is required, with alternating holiday requirements.
• Duties: Provide nursing care for patients with stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, and other neuroscience diagnoses. RNs may need to troubleshoot telemetry monitors and perform duties related to high-flow oxygen support for stable COVID patients.
• Float: Float in rotation with rest of staff, with skills competent to be assigned outside of the general unit only if urgent.
• Other: Orientation includes 2 days of unit-specific training plus computer training; no scrub color requirement; tattoos must be covered; no piercings besides ears. Scrubs are not provided.
