Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse in Rock Island, Illinois. This position involves providing specialized patient care within a high-acuity unit, contributing to a collaborative interdisciplinary team. The role offers flexibility with potential to float across local campuses and includes orientation sessions scheduled throughout the year.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Two (2) years of previous stepdown experience, Illinois state license, drivers license, work history/resume, skills checklist completed within the past year, license verification, certification copies, one supervisory reference, and must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility (or within a 10% rate reduction if local to Madison, WI).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, central lines, CBIs, drains, and medications such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban with some titration.
- Additional Information: Orientation scheduled on multiple dates throughout the year starting January 12, 2026. This role involves maintaining a patient ratio of approximately 1:7, with travel needs expected to help reduce this ratio. The contract duration ranges from 8 to 13 weeks with a 48-hour weekly guarantee. The candidate must have at least two years of stepdown experience and hold BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
