Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Redwood City, California. This role involves working on a specialized maternity unit with a focus on high-quality patient care, supporting obstetric and neonatal patients in a Level 2 NICU environment. The position requires clinical expertise, flexibility, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/17/2026
• Required Qualifications: California RN license, Certifications: Advanced Fetal Monitoring, ACLS, BLS, NRP; Education: RN degree or diploma; 2 years of labor and delivery experience, with no minimum experience requirement specified, and the ability to work in Redwood City, California
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with a higher socioeconomic patient population; bilingual skills (Mandarin) and translation service proficiency
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend (Friday/Saturday night, Saturday/Sunday days); holiday rotation with staff (one of every three major holidays)
• Float: To postpartum (PP) in rotation with permanent staff
• Additional Information: The unit features newly renovated LDRP rooms and older postpartum rooms. Lactation nurses are available during the day to develop care plans. The facility is semi-open with infant security system. Staff assist with triage and non-stress testing (NST). The patient population is predominantly higher socioeconomic status with a median maternal age of 37, and extensive Mandarin-speaking patients with translation services available via vocera phones. Call is optional and can involve being within 20 minutes of the hospital with a sleep room available. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, with shifts charted in Cerner electronic system.
