Job Summary:
Operating Room Nurse in Massachusetts This position involves delivering comprehensive patient care in the operating room environment. The role includes administering medications, maintaining detailed patient records, and collaborating with healthcare staff to ensure high standards of care. The incumbent will also serve as a charge nurse, participate in staff education, and assist in maintaining a safe and efficient operating room.

Job Details:

  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred; one year Operating Room (OR) experience; currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; able to read, write, and communicate in English; use of lead apron required.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: Properly utilizes the nursing process in caring for patients by maintaining relevant, accurate, and current patient records as evidenced by Nursing Performance Improvement activities. Provides documentation of assessment throughout the hospital admission, functioning as a resource person regarding patient care and staff orientation. Assumes the role of charge nurse and participates in quality monitoring and safety policies. Assesses personal development needs and maintains ongoing professional development activities. Represents the hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Performs other work-related duties as assigned or requested by immediate supervisor. Assists in staff development, supervision, and department operations, including supervision of materials, supplies, and drug inventory.
