Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary

The Medical Surgical Floor Nurse is located in a healthcare facility in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role involves providing comprehensive care to medical-surgical patients in a 16-bed unit that also manages COVID-positive cases. The position supports a team of 25 staff members and requires delivering quality patient care during night shift hours. The assignment begins on 08/10/2026.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, acute medical-surgical nursing experience of at least 1 year within the last year, ability to care for 4-6 patients simultaneously
• Preferred Qualifications: 2 or more years of acute medical-surgical experience, with a background in orthopedics or neurosurgery; Med/Surg/Telemetry experience preferred
• Additional Information: The unit predominantly utilizes Meditech electronic health records. Candidates should be friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused. Standard nursing skills such as IV insertions, urinary catheter maintenance, central line care, medication administration, and documentation in the electronic health record are required. The role may involve floating within med/surg units.
