Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor

Job Description

Job Summary:
A healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Nurse specializing in MS REHAB in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves working on a post-acute unit with a focus on neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, and cardiac patients. The nurse will provide care for a variety of complex medical conditions, participate in team conferences, and adhere to specific unit protocols.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated, BLS (AHA) certification, minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, active Illinois license or proof of an application in process.
  • Additional Information: The unit has a patient ratio of 5:1 during days and 6:1 at night. RN staff are required to attend team conferences and will learn specific rehab documentation and QRP procedures through a 2-day class orientation followed by 2-3 days/nights with a preceptor. Float to long-term acute care and medical-surgical units may be required, with no float to the health alternative unit unless trained. Telemetry is available but not monitored by RNs. Accurate strip reading skills are needed; however, RN titration of drips is not required.
