Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor Nurse in Salem, Virginia. This position involves providing patient care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient functional independence. The role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on patient-centered outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Virginia nursing license; experience in medical-surgical or progressive care units; BLS certification; located in or willing to relocate to Salem, Virginia
• Preferred Qualifications: Rehabilitation experience; advanced clinical skills not required
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other medical-surgical departments
• Additional Information:
  • Unit specifics include 35 beds with patient ratios of 5-7:1
  • Staffed with 2-4 technicians per census, utilizing vitals machines, Baxter intravenous pumps, sequential compression devices, and bladder scanners
  • Documentation is performed using Meditech system
  • Procedures include medication administration, IV therapy, bladder scans, trach care, tube feeding, Foley catheter care, bladder irrigation, and blood administration
  • Dress code consists of navy blue or white solid scrubs
  • Opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physiatrist, physician assistant, and neuropsychologist to facilitate patient rehabilitation and goals
