Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Oncology Floor

Job Description

Job Summary:
This is a registered nurse position within a medical surgical oncology floor located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The nurse will provide competent clinical care to oncology patients, coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. The role involves patient assessment, care planning, education, and participation in interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 08/03/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: - Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited school of Nursing; licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC). - One year of nursing experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Additional Information: - Must have chemotherapy immunotherapy certification. - Key skills include nursing, patient care, patient assessment, care planning, point of care testing, interdisciplinary collaboration, healthcare standards compliance, discharge planning, patient education, safety management, complex problem-solving, cost-effective care promotion, feedback provision, regulatory guideline awareness, hospital environment safety, cultural and ethnic sensitivity in care planning, task prioritization, research application, and communication systems usage.
