Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Progressive Care Unit located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This role involves providing competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, utilizing the nursing process to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The nurse will be responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care based on professional standards, with an emphasis on complex patient assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited school of Nursing; licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA or ARC; ACLS, NIHSS, CHARGE, and Precepting certifications are required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Additional Information: The role may involve being in a charge role or precepting nearly every shift. Flexibility for 48-hour guarantees is considered. The responsibilities include performing bedside point of care testing, patient safety management, discharge planning, patient education, and participating in performance improvement activities. The position requires strong skills in patient assessment, care planning, complex problem-solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
