Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time day shift position at a healthcare facility located in Athens, Tennessee. The role involves providing compassionate patient care within a Medical/Surgical unit that currently manages a patient load of up to 24 adults and geriatric patients. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced environment, supporting the organization`s mission to meet the healthcare needs of the community.

Job Details:

• Location: 1114 West Madison Avenue, Athens, TN 37303
• Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Certifications and Education: Must possess ACLS and BLS certifications; licensure required to work as an RN in Tennessee
• Experience: 0+ years of relevant nursing experience
• Unit Information: Medical/Surgical unit (floor: Medical/Surgical Trauma Level: 3) with a current patient capacity of 18, expanding to 24 patients; patient ratios approximately 6:1; equipment includes bladder scanners, glucometers, etc.
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatric; no pediatric patients.
• Preferred Skills: Critical care thinking, experience with common diagnoses such as pneumonia, cerebrovascular accident (CVA), cardiac issues, post-surgical, electrolyte imbalances, DVT, etc.
• Additional Information: Orientation is bi-weekly on Mondays; local candidates must be 60 miles or greater from the facility; the organization emphasizes team compatibility and a family-like environment.
