Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse for a position based in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role involves providing bedside care for medical-surgical patients in a busy hospital environment, supporting patient recovery and well-being through nursing interventions and documentation.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, Acute medical-surgical experience of 1+ years within the last year, ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time, reliable and patient-centered personality
• Preferred Qualifications: Acute medical-surgical experience of 2+ years within the last year, prior experience with orthopedics or neuro-surgery, background in Med/Surg or telemetry units
• Float: Float rotation may be required
• Additional Information: The unit currently has 16 beds with a staff of 25 members, including day and night shifts. Typical procedures include IV insertions, urinary catheter placement and maintenance, central line care, medication administration, and documentation in the electronic health record system. The unit primarily cares for Med/Surg patients, including Covid-positive cases, with standard nursing skills. The dress code is scrubs. Weekend and on-call rotations are normally scheduled on a rotating basis and as needed for travel registered nurses.
