Registered Nurse / Post Anesthesia Care Unit

Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) specialty position is located in a healthcare facility in Morgantown, West Virginia. The role involves providing patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, with a focus on anesthesia recoveries and sedation for outpatients and inpatients. This position requires a dedicated healthcare professional capable of managing cardiac cases, structural heart procedures, vascular interventions, thoracic surgeries, and CT surgery recoveries within a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Shifts to be worked can be a combination of three of the following 12-hour shifts per week as follows, but must include one 0800-2030 shift per week: 0500-1730, 0600-1830, 0700-1930, 0800-2030. Minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications. Minimum of 1 year of experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac experience is preferred.
• Additional Information:
  • Experience in PACU for cardiac and non-cardiac patients is necessary.
  • Orientation includes approximately one week, with a survival guide provided.
  • Call is required, including weekends and hospital-recognized holidays, with an response time of one hour.
  • No float to other units.
  • Scrub color and dress code are provided, and a 1-week unit-specific orientation is expected.
  • Emergency Department (ED) patients are occasionally recovered in the PACU.
  • The facility uses EPIC for charting.
  • The shift includes a mix of day and evening hours, with call obligations as specified.
