Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular

Job Summary:
The critical care nursing position is based in Nashville, Tennessee, within an advanced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This unit specializes in post-operative cardiac surgery care, including device management, with a team of highly experienced nurses and continuous intensivist coverage. The role involves providing specialized post-operative care to patients with complex cardiac conditions.

Job Details:

• Shift Hours: Nights, with a schedule of 12 hours per shift.
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours.
• Start Date: 08/31/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); strong critical care experience including CVICU work; at least 3 years of relevant experience; certified in or able to perform procedures such as central line insertion, Swan-Ganz catheter placement, intubation, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PA catheter management, Impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO devices; familiarity with post-operative cardiac surgical care; team-oriented approach.
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The unit features advanced equipment such as Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps. Staff includes full-time surgeons, intensivists 24/7, and a team with extensive experience in high-volume cardiac surgery. Candidate must adhere to unit-specific policies and dress code (black, red, or galaxy blue scrubs with scrub jackets/vests). No specific patient experience requirements are noted.
