Job Summary:
This position is for a Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse in a hospital setting. The role involves providing high-acuity patient care on a Cardiac Renal Unit in a busy healthcare facility. The position requires a dynamic and resilient HCP (Health Care Professional) capable of managing complex cases and adapting to a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Location: 600 Mary St, Evansville, IN 47710
  • Schedule: 12-hour days, shift hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week guaranteed.
  • Start Date: 08/24/2026
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks, with bi-weekly orientation.
  • Required Certifications and Qualifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS (American Heart Association Basic Life Support), AHA ACLS (American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale). A minimum of 2 years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry experience, at least one travel assignment, and trauma level II experience. Recent EPIC charting experience is required, including a checkoff class.
  • Patient Population: High acuity telemetry with predominantly cardiac cases (Afib with RVR, flutter, blocks), heart cath without interventions, CHF, COPD, sepsis, and post-ablation patients.
  • Skillset: Telemetry/12-lead EKG interpretation (candidate must pass telemetry tests), initiation and titration of drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, amino), PIV insertion, chest tube and drain management, CBI, stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), antidysrhythmic medication management (cardizem, tikosyn, amio), nephrostomy tubes.
  • Float Requirements: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus and potential to float to Henderson (KY). Cross-campus float within same campus is considered, with 2-hours` notice for cross-campus float.
  • Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Three weekends per six-week schedule, every other holiday.
  • Preferred Experience: Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, social personality, and ability to manage change effectively.
  • Additional Information: No competing health system logos on scrubs. Possible precepting duties for students and new hires. GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation; set hours guaranteed weekly except during holidays when the unit may be closed.
