Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, supervising licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants, and ensuring patient safety. This role involves performing nursing assessments, developing care plans, and promoting patient and staff safety in a dynamic clinical environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) prior to first shift; minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience; at least one (1) year of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience preferred; valid RN license in the state of New Jersey
  • Promotes patient and employee safety focused on 10 Foot Circle of Safety and displays safety awareness in all of the following key areas: Safe Patient Handling, Materials Handling, Infectious Diseases, Slips/Trips and Falls, Work Environment
  • Performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and patient/family, and documents all assessments and interventions accurately and timely
  • Participates in patient rehabilitation programs, initiates discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission, and supports continuity of care through effective communication
  • Provides direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately, and fostering a positive team environment
  • Maintains communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and clinical training needs
  • Assumes charge nurse responsibilities following orientation, with ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study
  • Performs other related duties as requested
