Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit Neurological

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse specializing in neurological care is sought for a position located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role involves providing specialized patient care within a 12-hour rotating shift schedule at a tertiary academic medical center. The nurse will support multiple ICU units, including Neuro ICU, with responsibilities tailored to critically ill neurological patients.

Job Details:

  • Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
    • Active, unencumbered Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required
    • Basic Life Support (BLS), Healthcare Provider (HCP); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
    • Pass EKG exam with a score of 80% or better during orientation
    • Three or more years of ICU Staff RN experience, excluding travel assignments, in large tertiary/quaternary, Level 1 trauma centers
    • Experience in neurological intensive care preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in mixed Medical/Surgical ICU and/or specialty ICUs
    • Experience in Critical Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) desired
    • Previous ICU Float Pool experience highly desired
    • Previous travel experience in neuro ICU highly preferred
  • Additional Information:
    • Must complete all elements of compliance and upload required documentation to the Medefis portal at least 10 days prior to start date to avoid delays or cancellations
    • Will be required to float to other nursing units based on operational needs
    • Limited Request for Time Off (RTO) approval after 30 days on assignment is possible
    • Candidates considered for roles outside their core unit may be assigned as nursing assistants or safety sitters if needed
