Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position in Kearney, Nebraska. The role involves working in a 22-bed acute care unit with an average daily census of 6 patients. The RN will provide care for patients undergoing procedures such as total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, shoulder surgeries, and spine procedures. The shift is scheduled for nights with a 12-hour shift length, and the assignment begins on 08/17/2026.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse; valid license to practice in Nebraska.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Med Surg/Ortho units, team-oriented attitude, flexibility, ownership of responsibilities, willingness to learn, and familiarity with EPIC charting system.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to MedSurg, rehabilitation, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) taking MedSurg acuity.
  • Job Responsibilities: Provide patient care related to orthopedic surgeries, operate tele monitoring equipment (tele boxes), read and interpret strips, and work collaboratively with charge nurses and patient care techs.
  • Shift & Scheduling Notes: Self-scheduling with cyclic rotation; every other weekend shift; rotating holiday schedule; RTO requests need to be made upfront for up to 7 days within each 13-week contract.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must be team-focused, adaptable, proactive, and committed to patient safety and quality care.
