Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit Medical

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Medical (ICU RN) opportunity located in Anchorage, Alaska. This position involves providing specialized critical care to adult and geriatric patients in a Magnet-level trauma facility. The assignment is focused on managing complex patient needs within a fast-paced environment, starting on 09/08/2026 for an initial 13-week duration.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license, 2 years of ICU experience, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
  • Specialized Skills: Arterial line management, assist with chest tube insertion/removal, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central line care, neuro ICU protocols, stroke management, invasive procedures, and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias.
  • Additional Information: Candidate must be willing to work two out of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year). Local candidates are not accepted; must be willing to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed. Pending license accepted but must be in hand for Auto Offer. Housing options should be explored locally, as options may be limited. References are required, covering at least 1 year within the past 3 years.
