Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) for a facility located in Reston, Virginia. This inpatient rehabilitation unit specializes in providing dedicated care to patients requiring recovery and functional improvement through a collaborative multi-disciplinary team. The RN will work on a night shift schedule, contributing to patient-centered care in a dynamic and expanding unit.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS certification, no minimum years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other medical-surgical departments based on experience.
• Additional Information:
  • The inpatient rehabilitation unit opened in December 2018 and features equipment such as Accuvein, Welch Allen vitals machine, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, bladder scanner, and Kangaroo pumps.
  • Patient ratios are 1:6, with staffing of 1:12 techs, increasing to 2 techs at 16-18 patients.
  • The unit performs procedures including medication administration (oral, topical, IVs, central lines, PEG tubes), bladder scans, trach care, tube feedings, Foley catheterization, TPN, and blood administration.
  • Certifications required include BLS.
  • The dress code involves navy blue scrub top and bottom.
  • The position offers an opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and functional independence.
